Culture Club

it is with sorrow that I have to inform you that storm and rain is forecasted for this weekend.

Since the whole outing in Petrella Guidi takes place outside, our host has suggested that we postpone our visit to Spring and to a more propitious moment.

I hope I will be seeing you anyway very soon.

For the first outing of the year 2023/2024 the Culture Club will take you on a journey through the smooth Val Marecchia hills in all their charming late summer flair. Our destination will be a very special garden, a “Quasi Orto” (almost a vegetable garden) in the words of its creator and owner Maestro Antonio Saliola, whom we had the chance to meet in his workshop in one of our last events. His property is situated in Petrella Guidi, a “frazione” of the Comune of Sant’Agata Feltria (Rimini province) and it is a veritable translation of his paintings in real life, as well as an inspiration from real life to art at the same time.
The garden is a jewel composed by 8 different “settings”, with one ground rule: “Lasciate ogni rumore o voi che entrate” (leave the noise behind). The Maestro ever developing creature will take us on a fantastic (in the real sense) immersion about nature, dreams and the essence of what art truly is.
A special thanks goes to Antonella Berni, whose friendship with the Maestro and organizational support made all this possible.

Last but not least… we will save the Quasi Orto for the end of our tour, like the cherry on the cake. Here’s the full program:

• Lunch at a nearby restaurant to head start our cultural tour
• Stroll through the charming little borgo of Petrella Guidi, main landmarks and sightseeing accompanied by a local Cicerone who will be selected by our host
• We will then reach the “Quasi Orto” to conclude our leisurable afternoon

When: Sunday the 24th of September, meeting time at 13.00 (1pm) at the Restaurant (location to be defined)

Length: lunch + walk in Petrella Guidi + visit to the Quasi Orto: from 1pm to late afternoon
Language: Italian the whole time
Max. capacity: 25 people
Who: IWF members. Partners and friends are welcome to join if the capacity is not reached.
Cost: we would like to offer the lunch for our host and give a small donation to the person who will accompany us during the tour of the Borgo. The cost will depend on the number of participants and should be from around 10 to max 15 euros each (I’ll keep you posted about this).

Directions to get to Petrella Guidi: A14 exit Cesena Nord then E45 direction Rome, exit Sarsina. Follow the directions to Sand’Agata Feltria (15 km from Sarsina).
