Bologna and the women who fought for the music
Dear IWF Friends,
I am very glad to invite you to our very first Culture Club outing for this new year 2019/2020!
During this guided tour we will uncover Bologna’s musical soul on a guided tour to the Museo internazionale e Biblioteca della Musica.
As you might know, Bologna was declared by the UNESCO “CittĂ Creativa della Musica” in 2006. This prestigious award celebrates the city’s rich musical tradition and today’s thriving musical context. Music in Bologna means tradition, creativity, identity. In our case, quite unexpectedly, our own IWF identity too! In fact, one music story we will be narrated concerns us in a peculiar way: that of the S. Cristina cloister where our association has its official seat and where heroic nuns in 1628 fought to death for their right to music.
When: Saturday, September the 28th. Guided visit in English starting at 10.30 am sharp (length: approx. 1 and a half hours)
Where: Museo internazionale e Biblioteca della Musica, Strada Maggiore 34
Meeting point: in front of the Museum at 10.15 am
How to get there: Right in the city centre
Who: Open to friends and partners (male and children presence admitted!)
