This award-winning Brazilian film (Best Screenplay at the 2024 Venice Film Festival) has been a huge hit in its home country and garnered critical acclaim, getting three Oscar nominations (Best International Feature Film, Best Motion Picture of the Year and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for Fernanda Torres).
I’m Still Here is a political and historical drama spanning decades which is based on a memoir by Marcello Rubens Paiva whose father was one of the approximately 20,000 people who were tortured and ‘disappeared’ during the military dictatorship in Brazil.
