Our next film is Mike Leigh’s latest, starring divine Marianne Jean-Baptiste (who previously worked with Leigh on Secrets and Lies).
Justin Chang from the New Yorker has called Hard Truths ‘blisteringly funny & crushingly sad’ and Jean-Baptiste’s performance, for which she won the award for the Best Lead Performance at the British Independent Film Awards, has earned her praise and numerous nominations.
The film will be shown in the original language (English), with Italian subtitles.
