Wondering whether you have time to fit in another book before the Christmas rush? No problem! This month we are discussing Jhumpa Lahiri’s collection of short stories Racconti Romani so even if you do not have time to read all nine, please feel free to come along and share your thoughts on what you have read.
Lahiri is a Bengali-American writer who has written several books in Italian. (An English translation is also available but her Italian is very accessible.) She often explores what it means to belong (or not) to the place we live – something many of us can relate to.
Lucy has kindly agreed to host and I will send the exact address (in the centre of town) and directions to everyone who signs up. Hope to see you there!
P.S. There are also several copies of this book (in Italian) in libraries throughout the city – no excuses!
P.P.S. Please note – this is the correct date (Thursday 18th December) – NOT the date on the newsletter!
